Uniform
The Massey High School uniform is a symbol of the school to which the pupils belong and of which they can be proud. The school expects students to maintain a high standard of grooming at all times. It follows that the uniform should be worn complete and in a way that reflects credit on both the wearer and the school.
Uniform standards are vigorously monitored and students have a responsibility to conform to those standards. There is a distinct uniform for junior school (Years 9 to 11) and senior school (Years 12 to 13).
New School Uniform Students starting in Year 9 and in Year 12 in 2009 will wear the new uniform. Students in Years 10, 11 and 13 in 2009 will continue to wear the present uniform. As students wearing the present uniform need to replace any items, they will be able to purchase these but where any are no longer in stock, they may purchase the required item from the new uniform. This will mean that some students may be in a mixture of the old and the new. However, this situation will only exist for two years at most. In 2010, the only students who could be wearing any of the present uniform would be those who are in Year 11. At the start of 2011, all students will be in the new uniform.
The present black school jacket and the official school sports jacket with MASSEY HIGH SCHOOL written on the back will remain. The response so far has been very positive and many students are looking forward to wearing the new uniform which they say will help them look much smarter. We are also looking forward to the change and to the new pride that students will take in their appearance. Uniform can be purchased from:
