Welcome to Taiohi Tātaki, the kapa haka of Massey High School. Our mission is to instill Kapa haka values through the performing arts, so that they may transfer those values into their self-development, growth, and life. 

Kapa haka is an all-year-round commitment. With the many performances, both competitive and non-competitive, kapa haka events in and out of school, and other contributing variables, this permission form will be used as a blanket permission for the following:

 

- Your child has permission to attend after school and weekend practices when required. 

Notices will be sent for practice dates and times.

- Your child has permission to attend onsite and offsite kapa haka specific events. 

Notices will be sent for upcoming events.

- Give the school the right to consent to photos and videos of your child.

Most kapa haka competitions are filmed and need consent from schools to film the kapa haka.

- Your child’s likeness can be used in advertising for the school.

We may use photos and videos to advertise our school and kapa haka.

 

For Kapa haka to maintain an elevated level of Kapa haka proficiency and students are exemplary students at Massey High School and beyond, students will be held accountable to 3 standards. 

 

- Attendance. 

attendance to school, class, practices, performances, and events.

- Behaviour. 

Students that are in Kapa haka are exemplary students at Massey High School, in and out of class.

- Schoolwork. 

students of Kapa haka complete their homework, class tasks and activities. 

 

By filling in the form, you understand that students in kapa haka, who do not consistently maintain these 3 standards, will be released from their commitments to kapa haka pending the results of 3 whānau hui.
