Rotary Hygiene Drive 2021

From the second half of term 1 to week 6 of term 2, the students of Massey High Rotary Interact Club, led by senior students, Lyncy Gregorio, Yujung Heo and Caitlin Symes, actively worked on collecting hygiene product donations for Healthwest Youth Health Hub's Rainbow Shed.

This Rainbow Shed was built to house donated products from the community and to provide for those in the community who are unable to access necessities such as food, clothing, and hygiene products. The 100+ hygiene products that were donated by the Massey High community will go towards the second rainbow shed being built at the Youth Health Hub.

Moving forward, the Rotaract club is looking forward to continuing its service and support to the local community through more projects this year.

Below is an email sent by Cherrill Rave, our contact person from Healthwest:

"On Monday 14 June 2021   Aroha Hudson CEO of Te Puna Manawa and Cherrill Rave attended a presentation from the Rotary Group from Massey who presented us with the above hygiene products.

We would like to acknowledge and thank you all and the wider community for the kind donations and also for the effort that you put in to make this happen.

This has been the 3rd year where Te Puna Manawa  has been supported by this group and we are very  grateful .All these products are made up into ‘dignity packs’ which are free to those who are in need which make up a part of our Rainbow Shed based at 49   Lincoln Road.

The Rainbow Shed has been operating for 3+ years and is fully supported by donations from the community.  This place is where we have clothing, shoes, toiletries, toys, books, baby gear ,linen  and whatever else gets donated.

Everything is free and we always happy to help where we can."
