MHS Reunion 2009
The Massey High School Past Students celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the school with a reunion at Easter. Our past students came from all over the globe and spent the Friday evening catching up on the intervening years and reliving school days with old friends and teachers.
Following the Friday get-together there was a good turnout for the official welcome on the Saturday morning. Jack Adam, the founding Principal’ welcomed everyone back to the school and a highlight of the day was the photo call for each decade in the school’s library. The day was completed with tours conducted by our student leaders – a chance for everyone to see how much the school has grown in recent years.
The celebrations concluded with the Ruby Dinner where the Principal, Bruce Ritchie, was proud to introduce the first six people to receive a Massey High School Alumni Award: Jack Adam, Dr Robert Dunlop, Professor Paul Moon, Colonel Timothy Keating, Linda Vagana and Philippa Boyens.
Each recipient has been recognised either nationally or internationally for thweir distinguished achievements in their particular field. They have set the benchmark for outstanding achievements by past students.
Each past student attending the reunion received a copy of the book Jack Adam compiled to acknowledge the school’s history and achievements. “Seek the Heights” The First Forty Years is a wonderful memento of the weekend.
