Adam Bailey (Building Academy)

A massive congratulations to Adam Baillie (previously in our Building Academy) who has been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Deaf Lawn Bowls Championships!!

From the 1st to 14th September 2023 the NZ Deaf Lawn Bowls team will be heading to Edinburgh Scotland to play in the 9th International Deaf Bowls Championships. The team will consist of 12 men & women all hand selected through trials (held in New Plymouth October 2022) to travel to Scotland.

Logan Wild (Class of 2022, Karearea House Leader)

A MASSIVE congratulations to Logan Wild who has signed with Mount St. Mary University for the fall of 2023! 

Mount St. Mary University is a Division I college where Logan will continue to sharpen his rugby skills!

Awesome achievement Logan, we are so incredibly proud!

Zinzan Hansen
Congratulations to Zinzan Hansen (Class of 2020) who has been named in the 2023 NZ Barbarians U21 Squad! 
Nash Jones (Class of 2022)

Congratulations to Nash Jones (Class of 2022) and the New Zealand Under 18 Men’s team who won gold at the 2023 IIHF Division 3, Group B event in Cape Town, South Africa.

Kiera Dunn (Class of 2022)

Congratulations to Kiera who has been awarded the 'Outstanding Humanities Student Excellence Award 2022' from Massey University.  This award also provides $1000 off her tuition fees.  All the best for the future Kiera!

Christian Lio-WillieCongratulations to Christian Lio Willie (Sports Leader 2016) who has been named, and making his debut, in the Crusaders Team for tonight's (Friday 24 Feb) clash against the Chiefs!

Next week the New Zealand Ice Fernz compete in the Ice Hockey Women's World Championship in South Africa.  Past students Jaime Jones, Lochlyn Hyde and Bella Vogel have been named in the team! The games are listed below if you are wanting to check them out and support the team!

25th Feb 0300: New Zealand vs Belgium

27th Feb 0300: Australia vs New Zealand

Congratulations to Holdan and Loa who have both been names in the Under 20s Blues Wider Squad for 2023. 
Logan Wild (Class of 2022, Karearea House Leader 2022) Congratulations to Logan who has been named in the New Zealand Under 20s Mens Touch Team!
Maya Taingahue (Class of 2021, Deputy Head Girl, 2021)Congratulations to Maya who was named in the Hoop Nation U20 Women's Team in the HoopNation 2023 Xposure Tour. Maya and team come out on top and become the U20s Champions!
Matthew Ogden (Class of 2009, Academic Leader 2009)
Congratulations to Matthew who placed first in The Goat Tongariro Alpine Adventure Run held on 21 January.
Yujung Heo (Class of 2022, Arts Leader 2022)

Yujung has been accepted to Harvard University as part of the Restrictive Early Action Round for the Class of 2027. 

There were 9,553 applicants for the class of 2027 (being the year that she will graduate) and Yujung was one of the 722 accepted. This year’s acceptance rate for the Early Action Round was 7.56%, making it the second-lowest early acceptance rate in the college’s history. 

She has also been offered a full scholarship to attend and will go this year in August.
