Parent Teacher Interviews - Term 3

Last week we welcomed students new to the school and their whānau to meet with their Tutor Teacher.  We were delighted with the response to this hui and with the positive feedback we received.

Research on academic achievement highlights the importance of communication between the school, whānau, and students.  We want to strengthen the relationship and communication among the school, the student and whānau so that we are working together to achieve our students’ academic success.

We would like to invite you to the Parent / Teacher Evening at Massey High School on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th July.  This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s subject teachers and/or Tutor Teachers to help support your child on their learning journey this year.

The Parent / Teacher Evening will be on Thursday 27th July between 12.00pm and 8.00pm and Friday 28th July between 9.00am and 3.00pm.  There will be no school for students on either of these days.  We invite you to either connect digitally with your child’s teachers, or to come in and meet the teachers with whom you would like to discuss your child’s progress.  If your child has 2 teachers for the same subject, you are welcome to choose one or other of the subject teachers to meet with.  You are also welcome to book an appointment time with your child’s Tutor Teacher.  We have allowed ten minutes for each interview.

If you are unsure on the subjects or teachers that your child has this year, you can find this in the Massey Way Fortnightly Report.

We are using an online booking system for parents to book their meetings.

  • Onsite meetings or online meetings are available and requires you to indicate the type of meeting at the time of booking.
  • Online meetings will involve the teacher video calling your child on Microsoft Teams at the set time – your child will need to have Microsoft Teams open and ready for you.
  • On site meetings at Massey High School will have mobility access to all meeting areas.

To make a booking:

  1. Go to www.schoolinterviews.co.nz or scan the QR code below.
  2. Enter the school event code crnq6
  3. Complete the details as requested.

Alternatively you can scam the QR code with your phone.

If you do not have internet access at home, or prefer to make your appointment by phone, you may ring the office, (09) 831 0500, and the office staff will make the booking/s for you.  The office reopens on Monday 17 July at 8am.

To maximise the benefit of these meetings, you are encouraged to bring your child with you.  This is for both onsite and online meeting.  When you arrive at the school your child can escort you to the relevant meeting rooms or log into their MHS Teams account.  They are not required to wear uniform but as it is official school time we expect a high standard of dress.  Some parking will be available in the school grounds.  Otherwise please park on Don Buck Road or its side streets (please be mindful of parking regulations).

We encourage you to contact us if you have any inquiry about your child’s progress at Massey High School.
