Art News - Sublimitas

On Tuesday 14th June, Sublimitas choir performed at the National Big Sing choral competition at the Auckland Town Hall. They have been preparing for this competition since the beginning of the year, rehearsing every week and also attending a choir camp and full day rehearsals to prepare.

The choir is directed by Clare Martin, who also teaches voice at MHS. They performed two songs: Alleluia Jubilate by James Whitbourn and Wade in the Water – Traditional Arranged by Mark Hayes with soloists Brooklin-Tane Bareman and Yujung Heo. They were accompanied on piano by our music teacher, Angelina Wang.

We would like to congratulate all the students in Sublimitas for their hard work. They represented the school with pride and professionalism and truly embodied the school motto to ‘Seek the Heights’.

If you would like to hear them and our other amazing musical talent perform in person, the Music department will be holding our annual Music Soiree evening on Tuesday 5th July during Arts Week. More info about the evening and how to purchase tickets will come out shortly.
