| Rosa Nevison | Silver Badge Prefect - Class of 2016 | Rosa Nevison, Flynn Robson and Sam Elliott received the NZ On Air Outstanding Music Journalism Award at the 2026 Taite Music Awards for their independent magazine ’Newzician' Born from a shared love of live music and the Aotearoa scene, Newzician is an independent print magazine dedicated to in-depth coverage of local artists, music culture, and the communities that sustain them. Founded by three friends with deep roots in the local gig circuit, Newzician has carved out a distinct space for long-form music journalism at a time when it is increasingly rare. Now four issues in, the magazine champions a diverse range of New Zealand musicians alongside the venues, labels, and people who keep the scene alive. |
| Nic Gill | 1988–1992 | We are proud to acknowledge Massey High alumnus Nic Gill (1988–1992) as he embarks on an exciting new chapter in his career. After an outstanding tenure with New Zealand Rugby, Nic is departing to take up a position with NFL franchise the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League, as Vice President of Health and Performance This opportunity reflects the outstanding contribution he has made to high performance sport in New Zealand. | Joudi Al Kak | Class of 2025 | Joudi Al Kak (MHS alumni, class of 2025) has been awarded the First Foundation Briscoes Group Scholarship worth $16,000! This scholarship covers four-years study, providing financial support, mentoring and ongoing guidance throughout Joudi's university studies where she will be completing a degree in Computer Science majoring in Cybersecurity. Joudi is seen as a role model to many young women at Massey High School and a proven advocate that hard work and determination do pay off. We are so proud of you Joudi. Congratulations and all the best in your future studies. |
| Blake Martin | 2013 - 2017 | We’re proud to see former student Blake Martin (student 2013 - 2017) featured by MITO for his outstanding achievement in completing his apprenticeship ahead of schedule. In the article, Blake acknowledges how his time at Massey High School helped shape his passion and pathway into the automotive industry. His journey is also a powerful reminder that challenges don’t define potential. Blake has succeeded despite learning differences including ADHD, Dyslexia and mild Autism — proving that with determination, support and the right opportunities, success is absolutely achievable. Blake’s story is an inspiring example for current and future students considering a career in the trades. | Rez Gardi | 2005–2009 | Making a Global Difference: Rez Gardi Appointed Special Assistant at UNHCR We are proud to congratulate Rez Gardi (Student 2005–2009) on her appointment as Special Assistant to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In this role, Rez will support Dr Barham Salih, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire progress in international protection and humanitarian action. Rez looks forward to working alongside UNHCR colleagues who do extraordinary work every day — many of whom she has collaborated with over the past decade and who have supported her advocacy and movement. This appointment marks an important milestone in Rez’s career, and we wish her every success as she continues to make a powerful contribution to global humanitarian efforts. Congratulations, Rez! |
