Rising Strong at the Auckland Champs
Huge weekend for our crew at the College Sport Auckland Weightlifting Champs 2026.
Seven athletes stepped onto the platform representing Massey High School with a mix of debutants, first-year seniors, PBs, and massive performances across the board.

| Karen Ota (Year 13) | 58kg Division | 1st Place |
| Akira Taingahue (Year 11) | First time in the Senior Division | 65kg Division | 1st Place. Added 16kg to his total |
| Leonidas Pereira (Head Boy - Year 13) | 79kg Division | 1st Place |
| Jacob Kanuta-Munn (Year 12) | Debut competition | 88kg Division | 1st Place |
| Malachi Henare-Lai (Year 11) | First year in Seniors | 110kg Division | 1st Place. Added 23kg to his total |
| Zephaniah Lai (Year 13) | 110kg Division | 2nd Place |
An awesome weekend and a good reminder that results are only part of it. The growth, consistency, courage to step on the platform, and the support around these athletes are what make it special.
A massive thank you to the coaches, families, and supporters who gave up their weekend to be there. We appreciate you all.
Thank you also to Arena West Weightlifting for hosting a great event.
It is exciting to see so many juniors and new lifters coming through in training, and we look forward to Nationals at the end of the year with a much bigger team.
Weightlifting is growing.
