Congratulations to our talented Massey High School swimmers who represented the school with pride and determination at the Central West Zones held at WestWave on Thursday, 21 May 2026. 

The team achieved some fantastic results across a range of events and age groups. 

A special congratulations goes to Year 10 student Vaughn van der Kraaij (14), who won a silver medal in the 50m Freestyle in the 14–16 age group and also placed 4th in the 50m Butterfly, an outstanding achievement against much older competition. 

Other impressive performances included: 

• Cooper Allen (15) placing 7th and 10th in his events in the 14–16 age group. 
• India Macdonald (14) achieving 8th place in the 50m Backstroke and 11th in the 50m Freestyle in the 14–16 age group. 
• Luka Lum (13) placing 8th in the 50m Breaststroke and 14th in the 50m Freestyle in the 13 & Under division. 
• Ruby Allen (12) finishing 13th in both the 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, sportsmanship, and effort shown by all of our swimmers. Well done to the entire team for representing Massey High School so positively both in and out of the pool!
