Massey CrossFit Take on Torian Pro 2026!

Strength, Discipline, and Massey Pride

Over the weekend, we had two students represent Massey CrossFit at Oceania’s biggest CrossFit competition in Brisbane, Australia – TORIAN PRO 2026!

To qualify for this competition, athletes had to place in the top 300 in the world (out of thousands) in the first round of qualifiers, and then finish top 8 in Oceania to be eligible for Torian Pro.

The boys were outstanding and represented Massey exceptionally well.

Leonidas achieved his best-ever finish in the three years he has been competing there, officially placing 4th in Oceania for Fittest 16–17-year-old Teen Male. He qualified in 7th place, and it was incredible to see his continued growth. This was his last opportunity to compete at Torian Pro as a teen, and we are extremely proud of the legacy he has created at Massey and within the CrossFit community, becoming the first Massey student to ever compete internationally.

Akira dominated the competition from the very first WOD, demonstrating maturity beyond his years. He finished in 1st place and is officially the Fittest 14–15-year-old Teen Male in Oceania. With most of his division coming from Australia, it was fantastic to see a Kiwi take the top spot.

Thank you to everyone who supported the boys on their journey, whether through training, fundraising, sponsorship, or donations. We are very grateful.

Photos attached include other NZ teens who also qualified for this competition – it is great to see New Zealand steadily making its mark on the Oceania stage.
