From Auckland Gold to Australia

What started with a gold-medal performance at the Auckland Championships in Term One has now opened the door to an incredible international opportunity for our Massey High senior girls.

After hearing about the team’s tournament win and their success as one of New Zealand’s top teams, NRL reached out with an invitation for the girls to compete in their OzTag competition in Australia during Week 8 of Term Three.

A squad of 12 girls will travel with Mr Tuivaiti to take on some of the best teams competing at the tournament. NRL is supporting the team by covering the majority of the costs involved in getting the girls to Australia, as well as providing gear for the team.

For the girls, this is about so much more than competing. It is an opportunity to represent Massey High on an international stage, test themselves against high-level opposition and experience something they will remember for years to come.

It is a fantastic reward for the hard work, commitment and success the team has shown throughout the season, and an opportunity we simply could not pass up.

We are incredibly excited to see what this experience brings for the girls and for Massey High, and we wish the team all the very best as they prepare to take on Australia!
